Wig & Topper Care
Wigs, Toppers, and other Hair Pieces usually need a washing every three weeks on average. This may vary from each individual to another depending on one's own circumstances. Susie's Wigs & Hair Replacement also has professional washing, setting, and styling services at each of our locations.

For HUMAN HAIR Wig/Topper Care

To SHAMPOO
• First, de-tangle hair with a wide tooth comb.
• Wet hair completely using cool, running water. DO NOT soak or submerge product.
• Apply a small amount of shampoo for color-treated hair and gently stroke through the hair from roots to ends.
• Rinse with cool running water. DO NOT twist, wring, or flip upside down.

To CONDITION
• Apply a small amount of conditioner for color-treated hair and work through the hair downwards from mid-shaft to the ends.
• Rinse with cool running water.
• Wrap wig or hairpiece in a towel and gently pat dry to remove excess water.
• Place wig or hair piece on a wig stand and gently de-tangle hair with a wide tooth comb.
• Allow to air dry.

Every Day Care
• After wearing the wig, check the underneath layer at the nape for tangles. Gently pick out tangles in the hair with a wide tooth comb starting from the ends and work your way upwards.
• If the hair is frizzy or wavy after washing & drying, apply a light spray of Heat Protect Spray, comb through, then use a straightener (280˚F to 300˚F) to restore straightness
• On days worn, use a light spray of Hair Essence, comb through, and then place on wig stand to keep fibers coated with protectant, detangled, and refreshed.

For SYNTHETIC Wig/Topper Care

Important for Synthetic Hair Pieces: ONLY use wig products. Human hair products will damage the protective coating on the fibers.

To SHAMPOO
• First, de-tangle hair with a wide tooth comb.
• Add one capful of wig shampoo or wig cleaner to one gallon of COLD water and mix to form suds.
• Next, soak the wig or hairpiece for 15 minutes - swish around once or twice to loosen spray and/or dirt particles.
• Rinse the wig or hairpiece by dipping in fresh COLD water until all the suds disappear. Repeat rinse cycle as needed.

To CONDITION
• Add one capful of wig conditioner to one gallon of COLD water and mix to form suds.
• Soak the wig or hairpiece for 5 minutes.
• Remove the excess water by holding the back of the wig or hairpiece and gently shaking it. DO NOT rub with a towel as this may cause the hair to frizz.
• Air dry by hanging the wig or hairpiece from the back where the tab is located. Hang over a showerhead or handle. By doing this, it will help to restore the body to the unit.
• Gently comb or pick out to desired style after drying. DO NOT brush or comb harshly.

Every Day Care
• After wearing the wig, check the underneath layer at the nape for tangles. Gently pick out tangles in the hair with a wide tooth comb starting from the ends and work your way upwards.
• DO NOT use curling irons or blow dryers.
• AVOID extreme heat such as ovens, cigarette lights, and excessive steam when cooking as this may damage the fibers and make them frizzy.
• On days worn, use a light spray of Hair Essence, comb through, and then place on wig stand to keep fibers coated with protectant, detangled, and refreshed.
